Reese had a double ear infection

My baby was sick this past weekend.  Saturday afternoon she started acting funny.  Reese is a very happy and loud baby.  Saturday afternoon she was very quite and took a very long nap.  I thought she was teething and did not think anything else of it.

Reese and I were at my parents house this weekend, since Jeff was out of town.  I loaded Reese in the car and we were heading home when she started throwing up everywhere.  I could not believe my baby was sick.  This is the first time she has thrown up.  I got her out of the car and stripped her down to her diaper.  I could tell she was hot and running a fever.  I was starting to panic.  I took her temperature and she was running 102.  I was terrified that she had the flu.  I called the doctor's office and was informed it would be several hours before they would call me back due to the high number of calls they were receiving. I did not have several hours to wait on there phone call.

At this time, Jeff was flying  back home.  I needed him more than ever.  My mom called and found out that Direct Care was open till 7.  I rushed to get Reese in the car to make it there.  We made it at 6:55.  As I am walking in, Reese begins to throw up all over my shoulder.  I started to panic and become a crazy mom.  I felt that my child was the most important and should be seen right away.  Of course that did not happen.

The doctor finally checked Reese out and told me she had a double ear infection.  I was happy and excited it was not the swine flu.  They had to give her a shot.  This was not good.  My baby cried for thirty minutes.  I thought I was going to start crying.

I was so happy that Jeff got home that night.  He picked up Reese's medicine for me.  Sunday we laid around the house since Reese was not feeling well.  She took 3 naps that day.  She finally broke her temp.

Reese is crawling

Reese is crawling.  For the past week she has been "army crawling" and "Spiderman" crawling.  She scoots her way around the floor.  She is not big girl crawling yet, but I know she will soon.

I am still afraid to give her table foods.  I a deathly afraid she might choke.  She eats bread and cheese but that is about all I have given her.  Over the next month I am going to try to give her more table foods.  I need help with this issue.

This past Wednesday we had MOPS.  Reese was the favorite baby in the nursery again.  When I dropped her off, the lady informed me that all the babies were in a bad mood.  They said they were looking forward to Reese because they all knew she would put on a show for them.  She did not let them down.  We have another play date with our MOPS group this Monday.  We are going  to the park.  I think Reese will have fun.

Last night, Kerry and Lucas came down and they stayed with us.  Reese was very excited to see her Aunt and Uncle.  She was so excited that she would not go to bed.  Reese did not go to bed until 9:15.  Of course she still woke up at her normal time around 7:30 this morning.  Tonight we are going to Shoguns.  I love Shoguns and I am thrilled.  I am not sure if Reese will be joining us.

Crawling

I have been away for awhile but I am back.  Reese is not crawling yet but I hope she will soon.  I am no longer going to stress about this.  She will crawl when she wants to. I am learning to let go.  Reese now says bye-bye.  It is so cute, she even waves to herself.  I love it. We thing she is the cutest baby and of course everything she does is cute to us. Jeff and I also taught her how to clap.  She loves to clap.  She claps for Jeff every time he asks her too.  She claps for me about 50% of the time.  She will do anything for her Daddy.  She lights up everytime she sees her Daddy.

Reese had her first play date yesterday.  I was a little nervous about how it would go, but she did great.  There were 3 other moms there with their children.  She was the personality baby.  She laughed and giggled for everyone.  She loved looking at all the other babies.  She wanted to touch all of them.  We had a great time and I can't wait for her next play date in 2 weeks.

This past weekend we went to Austin for Mallory and Chris wedding.  This was Reese's first wedding.  Jeff and I were not sure how she would do in the car but she did pretty good.  The last hour she got bored and wanted to be entertained.  We met up with our friends Mat and Tanya.  It was great getting to see them and we got to meet Everett. Everett is 6 months older than Reese.  Mat and Tanya son who is 4 about to be 5 told Reese, she is was the most beautiful baby he had ever seen.  It was the sweetest words I have heard.  Greyson is such a sweet kid.  I was so glad we got to see them.  We miss hanging out with them.

Reese did great at the wedding.  Jeff and I was nervous about her talking during the ceremony but we gave her a bottle as it started so she was occupied.  We did not think that during the pray she pass the loudest and longest gas I have ever heard.  It lasted about 10 seconds, a very long 10 seconds.  It sounded like it came from a man and the rows around us were looking at us and laughing.  Jeff's face was bright red and he was trying not to laugh.  Jeff said I was red as well. The more Kelly laughed the more I wanted to laugh.  It was priceless moment.  At the reception everyone wanted to dance with Reese.  Jeff parents were at the wedding and they stole her away from us almost the whole night. They were able to spend some good quality time with her. She also danced with her Aunt Kelly and Aunt Kerry.  Kerry was very excited to Reese since she had not seen her in a month. She did have a few dances with her Daddy which she loved.  When I finally got to hold my baby she fell asleep in my arms.  I loved it.  She was passed out.  I am so glad Reese had a great time at her first wedding.  She was the cutest baby there in her dress.  I will post a picture when I get them from Kelly.

That is about all for now.  I will be a better posting I promise to my 2 followers.

Happy 9 month Birthday Reese

Today is Reese's 9 month birthday.  She is growing up so fast.  I can't believe how much she has changed in 9 months.  I truly enjoy every minute I have with her.  I am so thankful I am able to stay at home with her.

Today, Reese had her 9 month old check up.  She weighs 18 lbs and 14 oz.  She is 53% for weight.  She is 27.5 inches long which makes her in the 49% for length.  My baby still had a tiny head.  It is 17 inches and is 27%.  She did not have to get any shots today.  We were both happy about that.

Reese holds her bottle

While Jeff and I were in Ireland, Reese learned how to hold her bottle all by herself.  I can't believe how grown up she looks while holding her bottle.  She is able to angle the bottle to get as much formula as she likes.  She loves holding her bottle.  Reese does not even want Jeff and I to help her.  She pushes our hands away.  She keeps a death grip on her bottle.  This girl has yet to miss a meal.  She loves her food.  My baby is growing up way too fast.

Reese update

Reese has cut her 2nd tooth.  It is right next to her first tooth.  Since Jeff and I have gotten back from Ireland she has been very clingy.  She has to be held at all times.  I guess she is afraid we may leave her again.  She still is not crawling but she is rolling everywhere.  She loves to play with her toys.  I love to watch her as she plays.  I will have to post more later.

NYC and Ireland

It has been awhile since my last post.  I have been super busy.  Jeff and I went on a solo vacation.  It was my first time ever to leave my Reeser.  It was very difficult.  We both missed her to pieces.  I am glad we got some time together and Reese was in great hands.  She stayed a few days with her Mimi and the rest of the time with Honey and Aunt Lissa.

Jeff and I went to New York City for 2 days before we left for Ireland.  I just love NYC.  It is by far my favorite city.  This was my 3rd time to visit.  Jeff and I really did not do the whole tourist thing.  We walked around the whole city which was wonderful.  We ate at a great Italian restaurant.  Jeff took me to Central Park and we took a carriage ride.  I have always wanted to do this.  We then ate at Tavern on the Green.  The food was great.  It was a short trip but I loved every minute of it.

Jeff and I went to Ireland with Sean and Amanda.  Ireland is a beautiful country.  I love the weather.  It was about 55 degrees everyday.  It rains a lot there but we never got any rain.  The people look like they are stuck in the 80's.  They are not known for there fashion.  Lets just say I did not spend a dime on clothing.  The women looked like they just rolled out of bed.  It was crazy how different they are from Americans.  They food was by far the worst food I ever had.  The meat was gross.  I really do enjoy my processed food in American.  We should all be thankful for that.  I usually looked forward to mealtime but during this trip I hated it.  I only ate french fries and garlic bread.  That was something they could not screw up.

The boys played golf while we were there.  The golf course was over looking the ocean.  Jeff was in heaven.  He loved playing golf in Ireland.  We went to the Cliffs of Moher.  They were amazing.  We also went to Cork and the Blanery Castle.  We had some good times but I think that will be my only visit to Ireland.  I have lots more to tell but Reese is wanting will post more later.

Reese got her first tooth

Reese finally got her first tooth.  It is bottom front tooth.  It is the cutest thinh I have ever seen.
Reese did not get fussy at all.  I am shocked about it.

Jeff and I are leaving Reese for the first time.  I have never spent a night away from her.  It is going to be very hard for me but I know we are going to get through this.

Reese's first airplane ride

Sunday, Jeff, Reese and I flew to Corpus Christie.  Jeff is here for business and Reese and I tagged along for a few days.  Reese and I leave tomorrow.  Reese was the best baby on the airplane.  She was great.  She was laughing and giggling on the plane.  Everyone on the plane was amazed with her.  They said they have never seen such a good baby.  Lets hope she does just as good on Tuesday since I will be flying alone with her.

Jeff and I took Reese to Port A. on Sunday.  She loved the beach.  We got some great pictures of her.  We walked up and down the beach.  She loved looking at the waves.  She is talking so much now.  We can not keep her quiet.  She says dada and oh all the time.  Of course she still happy screams.  I am amazed with how she can grab her finger foods now.  About a week ago, she was having trouble getting them in her mouth but now she gets her yogurt melts and puffs in her mouth with no problem.  Last night Jeff gave Reese so bread to eat and lets just say she is her mother's daughter.  She loves bread.  We had to take it away from her.

This morning I took Reese on a walk by the bay.  She loves walking,  it was very windy.  I do not like what Corpus Christie has done to my hair.  We were excited that we got to see Jeff at lunch today.  Reese and I met him at subway.  It was like a 2 minute walk from the hotel.  Reese is napping right now so I have a few minutes to myself.

Still no teeth.

Rolling over is the new crawling

Today, Reese has decided she will roll to her toys.  This morning I went in the kitchen to make her a bottle and came back and she was on the other side of the living room.  I was in shock.  How did she get there?  Reese was trying to roll to the kitchen.  She will roll over and over until she get to where she wants to be.  It is the cutest thing I have ever seen.  Of course, I am her mom so everything she does is cute to me.  I am not sure if she is going to crawl or continue to roll everywhere but she is now on the move.  I think it is time to baby proof the house.  I now know I can not leave her alone for a second.

Dallas

This past weekend Jeff, Reese, and I went to Dallas.  Friday night we stayed with Kerry and Lucas.  We were glad we got to see them.  Went to dinner that night with 11 people.  Reese was not being her perfect self since dinner fell right during her bedtime.  Jeff and I had to take turns holding her.  We were the only couple that had a child.  It is always a weird thing when you go to dinner with a bunch of people and you are the only ones with a child.

Saturday morning we went to our friends house.  Jason and Vandy were great host.  Reese had a great time.  She loved playing with Arden.  Arden is 6 months older than Reese.  They would hold hands and hug.  It was very cute.  At lunch Reese at crackers for the first time.  She seemed to love them.  I was nervous about it.  We had a great weekend with friends and family.

Reese stills has no teeth and is not crawling.

Reese the fish

This weekend Jeff and I took Reese swimming.  Reese and I went Friday night.  Jeff went with us on Saturday morning.  Reese loves the water.  She got so excited when we were getting in.  She kept try to put her face in the water.  She thought this was funny.  My favorite part of swimming was when she kept splashing her daddy in the face.  She would immediately start laughing.

After we went swimming we came home and Reese took an extra long nap.  I think the sun wore her out. I love when she takes long naps. Jeff took me to one of  my favorite steak houses for dinner.  I love Texas Roadhouse.  I love there rolls. I think I could eat the rolls for my dinner and no I am not joking.  I love love bread.

Sunday we did a lot of relaxing which was much needed.  Reese still has not gotten a tooth in yet.  Not sure if it will ever come in.  When put Reese to sleep she now is rolling on her tummy.  We find her in the mornings on her side or her tummy.  I love it.  She looks up at us with a big smile and starts laughing.  She is truly the happiest baby.

Lots to catch up on...

Okay, I have lots to share sorry I have been behind in posting.  Reese celebrated her first 4th of July.  Jeff and I bought her the cutest 4th of July dress.  She looked adorable.  Jeff and I went out the night before the 4th with some friends.  It was nice to have dinner and adult chat.  Aunt Kelly babysit Reese for us.  After dinner Jeff, Vandy, Jason, and I went to Jakes to have a few more drinks since we were all kid less.  I think I had one to many.  I felt them the next day. Jeff had to take care of Reese for me.  He is such a great daddy.

On the 4th of July we hung around the house until about 5ish then we went to my parents Lakehouse.  Everyone was loving on Reese the minute we got there. Nobody cared that we were there.  Everyone wanted Reese. She loved all the attention she was receiving from everyone.  I was so excited for Reese to watch the fireworks, I was glad it was getting dark.  There were tons of fireworks shows on the lake.  Reese loved every minute of the fireworks.  She kept reaching out to grab the fireworks.  We finally went home around 9:30.  She fell alseep in car it was great.

In other news,Reese is sitting up so well now.  I am sure she will be crawling soon.  She is starting to say "dada".  Jeff is so happy that this is going to be her first word.  It is very cute when she trys to say it.  She is now eating yogurt. I have given her blueberry and apple. She stills loves everything type of food.  I am amazed since I am so picky.  I think she has Jeff eating habits.

Tonight,  Reese and I went swimming at my parents house.  She loves being in the water.  She is fish.  She kept kicking her feet like she was swimming all on her own.  She would put her hands in the water and splash us.  She thought this was so funny.  I did too.  I think we could have stayed in the water all night.

Reese is getting better

Reese is finally get over her first ear infection and cold.  We did not do anything this weekend since our sweet little baby girl was sick.  Jeff and I watched Confessions of a Shopaholic.  I loved this movie, it was very cute.  Reese did eat avocados and bananas for the first time.  I am not sure if she like them.  She kept making weird faces.  Reese still has not gotten a tooth yet.  At this point, I don't think she will.  She is sitting up for about 5-7 minutes on her own.  Tummy time is over now.  She knows how to immediately roll over.  I am hoping to take her swimming this week if she continues to get better.

Reese is sick for the first time

It is official, Reese is sick.  She has an ear infection and a cold.  Yesterday, she was coughing and had a runny nose.  Last night she was up all night crying.  My heart was breaking for my sweet baby girl.  I hated that she was in so much pain.  I called the doctor first thing this morning.  The doctor started her on some antibiotics.  We were planning on going to Dallas this weekend for a surprise party for Daniel but I don't think we will make it.  I guess this is what happens when you have a sick baby.  She will be on her meds for the next 10 days.  I am not sure how much sleep Jeff and I will get tonight but I know Jeff will most likely bring her to our room so we can keep a close eye on her.  He is so protective of his precious daughter.

Father's Day Weekend

We had a great Father's Day this past weekend.   Saturday we went to my parents Lakehouse.  Reese and Aunt Lissa went swimming in the lake.  It was her first time.  She had so much fun.  We also took her on a boat ride.  She fell asleep during the boat ride.

Sunday was Jeff's first Father's Day.  We had a great day.  Jeff and Reese wore matching shirts that said My dad rocks.  It was so cute.  We went to breakfast with Jeff's family and then we came home and hung out.  It was great.  Reese and I took Jeff to dinner that night and then we stop by my parents house.

Monday, Jeff and I took Reese to the zoo.  We had so much fun.  We took tons of pictures.  Reese loved looking at all the animals.  We bought her a white tiger stuffed animal.

Reese has been talking up a storm.  She has been talking non stop all day long.  It is great.  She is grabbing at everything in sight.  We are now I having to watch what is in front of her or she will grab it.

Reese is 7 months

Today my sweet little baby is 7 months old.  I can't believe it.  It feels just like yesterday she was  in my belly.  She has grown so much mentally and physically in 7 months.  I am shocked by all her changes.  She is now sitting up for a few minutes by herself.  She rolls over all the time.  She grabs anything in sight.  She loves her rattle and my hair.  She has discovered what her hands can do.  She puts her hands to her face and moves them every which ways.  It is the funniest thing.

Reese has been sleeping till 8 most mornings but today she slept till 9:40.  I was amazed and shocked.  Of course, I went and check on her every few minutes.  We are now down to 4 bottles a day.  She is taking 5-6 oz in her bottles now.  We have cut the afternoon bottle.

I will have lots to write for Sunday's post since it is Jeff's first Father's Day.

Reese had her 7 month pictures

Aunt Lissa came to Tyler yesterday to take pictures of Reese.  We went to the Rose garden early in the morning before it started to get hot.  It was very nice weather and I was happy.  Reese decided she would take serious photos instead of sweet cute pictures of her smiling.  She would not give us smile.  When Aunt Lissa put her camera down she would start smiling.  It was too funny.  I think she did capture a few pictures of her smiling.

Last night Reese and I went to Jeff's softball game.  I was afraid it might be to hot for her but we stayed in the shade which was great.  She really enjoyed watching her daddy play softball.  I am not sure how many games we will get to but we are going to try to go to as many as we can.

Reese is really starting to sit up.  Mommy bootcamp is paying off.  She can now sit for about 3 to 4 minutes before she falls over.  She still hates tummy time.  She now will roll over as fast as she can to get off her tummy.  I then go and but her back on her tummy,  it is a never ending cycle.

This weekend is Father's Day so I should have lots to discuss.

Reese got her first pair of shoes

Saturday, Jeff and I went shopping for Reese.  We finally got her a pair of stride rite shoes.  The only problem is she is still a size 1.  Her foot will not grow.  We could only find one pair.  The size 2 is still to big for her tiny foot.

I am still working on Reese sitting up.  I am becoming a nervous wreck about this subject.   Saturday, Jeff and I ran into a couple who informed us the son was sitting up at 6 months.  Reese will be 7 months this Saturday.  Reese is currently enrolled in sitting up bootcamp.  I am working day and night with her.  She will be sitting up within the next 2 weeks.

Sunday we had a few people over for dinner.  It was great.  Reese got to play with Emerson.  She is our neighbor's daughter.  I think everyone had a great time.  Jeff had the best time because his Lakers won the NBA finals.

I will keep everyone posted on the progress of sitting up.

Reese is sitting up sorta of....

I haves lots of news to share,  this week I have been working with Reese on sitting up.  I found that if I put my iphone in front of her she will reach for it and hold herself up for about 30 secs to a minute.  Jeff and I got a a few pictures of her sitting up before she fell.  I love that she is starting to sit up.  She is growing up so fast.  I have also been making her do lots of tummy time.  She still fights me on it but she is doing the time on the tummy.  We officially have eliminated her 6 am bottle.  I am so excited.  She is now sleeping till 7ish.  I am loving it.  Reese is so cute when she wakes up. She will play in her crib for about 20 minutes before she cries out for me.

She is still eating all her baby food.  The other day I gave her squash and once again loved it.  I have not found a food she does not love.  She must get her eating habits from her daddy.  We still have no tooth.  I wish this tooth would hurry up and come in.

Last night,  Jeff and I went on a date.  It has been forever since our last date night.  My parents babysit for us.  Tt was a great night that we needed.

Today, Jeff and I are going to take Reese shoe shopping.  We need to buy her some shoes.  She is getting to big.  I want to get her 3 good paits of shoes.  We might even take her to the zoo.

Grumpy Reese

For the last 2 days, Reese has been a grump.  It seems like Jeff and I can not make her happy.  She seems to be extra grumpy in the afternoon.  When she gets like this we either take her outside or lay her down on her floor.  She loves looking at her sky in her bedroom.  She lays on Aunt Lissa blanket that she made her.  She loves this blanket.  We still have no tooth.  I know it is coming.

Today, she slept till 8:15.  I am loving her sleeping in.  She woke up at 6 and then played and laughed for about 15 minutes then went back to sleep.  It was so cute.  We our now down to 5 bottles and she is taking 5 oz.  She eats her baby food about twice a day.  Today she had turkey and sweet potatoes.  She loved them.  I have not found any food that she has not loved.

I am hope to take Reese swimming this week.

New Chair

Jeff and I bought Reese her first chair.  I was so excited when it came from UPS.  It is pink with light green stripes and has her name on it.  We put her in the chair and she loved it.  I can't wait for her to sit and watch movies with mommy and daddy in her chair.

Friday, Reese and I went shopping with Mallory.  We had a blast.  We took turns holding Reese in the dressing room while we were trying on clothes.  Jeff had to go to Dallas during the day and Reese was so excited to see him when he got home.

Yesterday, Jeff went and played some golf with my dad and then we went to see the lake house.  I can't wait for it to finally be done.  That evening Jeff and I had a couples shower to attend and Reese stayed with her Mimi.  I think everyone had a great day.  She also got to spend some time with Aunt Kerry and Uncle Lucas.

Today we are having a lazy Sunday.  Jeff has been playing with Reese and entertaining her.  I still think she is about to cut her tooth.  The past 3 nights she has slept till 7:30 am.  I think her getting up at 6 is a thing of the past.

Tummy Time

Reese and I have not being seeing eye to eye on tummy time.  Since the day she was born she has hated being her stomach.  Every time I put on her stomach she fights me.  Yesterday I decided she was going to do 30 minutes of tummy time.  Of course, we did not do all at once.  We did it 10 minutes at a time.  She fought almost every minute of it.  I am afraid we are doing enough tummy time.  All my friends tell me their babies did the same thing and they still sat up and crawled.  I know I have to let her do things at her pace.

I know my baby girl is about to get her first tooth.  She has been sucking on her pacifier non stop for the past 2 weeks.  I check every day for the tooth.  I know it will be here any day now.  I guess that is all for today.  Friday I am taking her to the kids water park.  It should be lots of fun.

Reese went to her first movie

Jeff and I took Reese to her first movie on Sunday, she saw Up.  It was a good movie for what I saw.  Reese got bored and we spent the last 30  minutes in the lobby but she did really well.  Jeff's mom went with us as well.  We all had a great time.

Today, Reese and I took Honey to her eye doctor.  After we dropped her off we went to Wal-mart.  We got a few things that we needed and of course I forgot dog food.  I am so mad at myself.  That was the reason we went to Wal-mart.  Reese and I then came home and she tried carrots for the first.  She really enjoyed them.  Once again we fought each other during nap time.  She maybe took an hour nap.

That seems to wrap things up for today.

Yeah for the Weekend!!!

I am so glad it is the weekend.  I look forward to the weekends, so I can spend time with Jeff.  This weekend has been very relaxing.  I am so glad to have a weekend were we are not doing a million things.  It seems like we always have something going on.

Reese has been picking up everything in sight.  She is getting so strong.  Today she even held her bottle for about a minute on her own.  It was so cute.  She is growing up way to fast.  Today she had sweet peas.  She seemed to like them.  I was shocked because you could not pay me to eat peas.

Time for me to go spend the rest of the day with my family.

It has been a long day

Today has been a very long day.  As always I got up at 6 am.  Reese does not allow me to sleep in not even till 7.  After  she had her bottle she went back down for her nap and I got my work out in.  I was so happy to get it done early.   Then Reese and I went and ran errands.  During errand time we had to take Honey (my mom) to get her pedicure.  She can't drive right now.   She had neck surgery.  Reese and I then came home to start preparing for tonight's barb-b-que with Jeff's side of the family.  Jeff brother is in town and tonight is his last night.

Reese still will not take her afternoon nap.  I am not sure what i am going to do.  So far she loves very type of baby food I have given her.

That is all for today.

I am new to this....

I have decided to start a blog so I can detail the day to day actions of my sweet daughter Reese.  I would love to look back at this when she is older.  I guess I should get started.

Reese was born on November 20, 2008.  She is now 6 months and 2 weeks old.  She can be a handful at times but she is the love of our  life.  Right now we are having some issue with nap time.  We are not seeing eye to eye on them.  She seems to nap when she wants to nap.  We have been fighting each other on this for the past 2 weeks.  She is winning the battle. She is trying to sit up right now.  She works so hard on pushing her self up.  I know she will get it in the next few weeks.  Reese also loves to scream and laugh.  She is a very happy baby.  I adore her sweet laugh.  She is also rolling over.  She hates being on her tummy.  When she rolls to her tummy within a minute or two she screams her head off.

I keep thinking her first tooth will come in any day now.  I have said that for the past month.  I wish that darn tooth would hurry up and make it's debut.  Reese is putting anything and everything in her mouth.  It is so cute when she puts her toes in her mouth.  I love it.  She sucks away on those toes.

I guess I am done for my first post.  I hope to be an active blogger.  We shall see.
